We finally made a trip down to visit the SEA aquarium when the hubby was on leave last Friday! Many have blogged about their visits, so I'll just leave you with a few photos:
Hello Mr Pufferfish! |
His fav activity: poking jellyfish. |
One thing memorable about the visit wasn't in the aquarium though, but in the Maritime Experiential Museum (which you have to walk through to get to the aquarium). We had lunch in the cafe next to the Bao Chuan viewing deck, which screens this video, complete with a roaring lion with red glowing eyes and smoke issuing out of its mouth:
It completely freaked Lil J out. He refused to sit down, and had to be carried. In the end we had to sit outside in the heat before he calmed down enough to eat his lunch. Whenever he caught sight of the lion he would tremble, clutch us tightly and squeeze his eyes shut.
He was so scared that any mention of the word "lion" or "scary" after the trip would have him bursting into tears. He wasn't the only one though... there was another kid on a school trip who spent his entire lunch screaming and crying whenever the lion's eyes lit up. Another school group wisely opted to sit outdoors from the start. So if you do have kids that might get scared by these things, go eat somewhere outside the museum instead! (The food there ain't great too, plus its expensive!)
