These two. They spend half the time fighting. Big brother sometimes snatches toys, or shoves his brother. Lil brother has learnt to fight back by trying to bite. Or sometimes, he wants to have whatever big bro is having and gets upset when Junior J refuses to share.
But then, there are these little moments where they play together. Not alongside each other in parallel play, but together. When Junior J shows the lil one where to place his Duplo blocks to build a farm. When they pretend to have a picnic together. When they start singing and dancing to songs. Usually these moments are short-lived, and they start fighting over something again. But I admit, these little moments warm my heart and make all those sibling squabbles a lot more bearable. So I am thankful for these snippets of brotherly love, and how I can be home to witness them.
What are you thankful for this week?
sounds like the regular scene at my place too. but their learning to play more together, and it's really endearing to watch. here's to more happy sibling moments!
ReplyDeleteYes! Hopefully more of those, and less fighting in time to come!
Deletedefinitely good to be thankful for the moments when they play well... i think it is natural for kids to fight but at the heart of it, as long as they are building up a strong sibling relationship that cares for one another no matter what, that is what matters.
ReplyDeleteThat's true, Jasmine! I hope they'll learn to care for one another like you described!
