be*U Shoes: Matchy with Mama (and a discount code!)

I sometimes feel a twinge of envy when I see mummies dressing all matchy-matchy with their little girls. I mean, I have 3 boys, and while I find it fun to dress them in matching outfits sometimes, it is almost impossible for me to dress in stuff that matches them!

So I was delighted when we were invited to review the bespoke shoes by be*U. Be-what? I admit I was clueless about the word, and found out it meant "custom-made". be*U shoes allow customers to choose from a range of 600 motifs and an assortment of 100 colours, and allows for personalization of the shoes by embossing various details like your child's name on the shoes. This means it would be possible to have matching shoes for mums and their sons... or even for brothers and sisters!

The boys were excited when they saw their Happy Car shoes. Not only could they wear shoes that matched, but Mama's also had shoes that looked like theirs! We were able to have cars in our favourite colours: red for me, blue for Junior J and yellow for Lil J.

I loved the ballerina flats, which are my go-to shoes these days since it is impossible to run after the boys the whole day in anything that has a heel. The shoes were really comfortable to wear, and allowed my feet to breathe since they were made of genuine leather. These shoes are hand-stitched, with each pair requiring a minimum of 10 man-hours to make, and that means the shoes should last pretty long if cared for properly. (Which hopefully means the shoes can be passed down from brother to brother until baby J is ready to wear them!)

The boys found they could put on and take off the shoes easily with the velcro flaps. The shoes seem a tad wider than their usual pairs, which apparently allow feet to curl and grip the floor better.

The shoes for one to four year olds (except those from the ballerina collection) come with an award-winning keyboard outsole, which maximizes flexibility and shock absorption. Lil J was most fascinated with the soles and kept examining the numbers on his shoes.

All in all, the shoes are really well-made and having so many designs to choose from is a big plus point. Look at some of these other designs!

  1. The shoes look so adorable! I might get these when my boy is older. You could get a pair for the Dad too! :)
