This was Christmas last year: a live tree, decorated with baubles and lights, piles of presents, celebrations with friends and family. We had a almost 6 year old, a 3 year old, and a baby who just turned one.
It's been so much quieter this Christmas, in terms of festivities and decorations. There is no tree, no decorations, save for the wreaths that we made recently, which hang gaily on our bedroom doors. We just had a small gathering with our cell group. We will be celebrating Christmas with church in the morning, and dinner with my parents. I guess this year, we hold Christmas more in our hearts, than on our tables, and that's isn't exactly a bad thing.
Yet feasting and festivities aside (or rather, the lack thereof), my heart has never felt fuller. It has been a challenging year juggling three littles, but I can't feeling like we've been so blessed. There's so much to look forward to in the year to come, with Baby #4's arrival and the first year of homeschooling officially. The boys are learning and growing each day. Life will continue to be crazy, but God's grace will continue to pull us through.
So Blessed Christmas, my friends. May we continue to remember the reason for the season!
