Thinking Thursdays: In seasons of tiredness...

... where one falls sick and the heat seems too strong to bear...

... where little ones have runny noses and feverish foreheads, and keep you up all night with their crying crying and crying that never seems to end, and that cannot seem to be stilled with singing or rocking...

... when you feel like wilting and drooping and falling to the ground...

... when you are drained and dry...

Take heart and pray.  Seek for living water, like how parched plants send out roots in search for it.  Ask for strength to do the next thing.  And keep looking up to catch the light...

... however little there may be of it...

... and know that we can be fruitful, if we remain in Him.

"I am the vine; you are the branches.
If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit;
apart from me you can do nothing."

John 15: 5 (NIV)

All photos (save for the one of the orchid roots, which reflects the pathetic state of my dried up little garden) were snapped recently during a forest walk. Junior J is sick and we're rather under the weather too, and we are praying that we'll get well in time for the hubby's sister's visit during the weekend...

  2. Oh dear, pray that J and you will be well soon. You could try put a tissue dipped with Eucalyptus oil near the kid's pillow at night if there is any block nose.

  3. hey sweetie, at times like this we give Lj kids panadol when he wakes up crying like mad at night when he's sick. We also give him some before bed when he has been miserable to help him sleep thr the night. It really helps. The doc prescribed kids zyrtec for reducing mucus. Also kids cough syrup. U could try a cool mist vaporiser at night to help decongestion. Can add vicks or eucalyptus oil also.

  4. Prince n princess mum: Thank you!

    CE: Thanks for another good tip! Will do that if he has a blocked nose...

    SY: Thanks gal! His fever was quite low so we didn't dose, but did give him the meds for his nose. Thankfully he slept much better last night!

  5. This is a brilliant post...full of hope and trust in God accompanied by gorgeous photos! Here's praying little J will be well soon. :)

    Whenever my kids fell sick and couldn't sleep 'cos of stuffed noses, we would lift the part of the mattress where the head is and put some cushions underneath so that the head of the bed is raised (just like hospital beds) - gravity helped the mucus drain downwards... :)
