Learning to read simple words: Shopping lists given to the little boy, where he would go shopping with his trolley and come back with the relevant items! |
Stamping with magnetic alphabets, and doodling on the magnetic doodle board. Little boy especially loves to draw a swimming pool on the board and let his little wooden figures go swimming in the "pool". |
Learning to tell the time. More details here! |

Incorporating natural materials into everyday play. Hop over to the post! |
Learning self-care/caring for others through taking care of his soft toys. He bathes his toys using a "tub" and a bag of toiletries, and follows a series of steps! More details over here... |

Matching activities using this Klipp Klapp book that was passed down to the boy from the hubby's uncle. This version is a little tough for the boy, so I'm planning to just make flap books to let the boy do simple matching games... soon. :) |
Transfer activities using tongs: The boy can now handle the tongs better and likes to transfer the alphabets into cups, while identifying the alphabets along the way. |

Playdough food. We bought a set of tools that came with some playdough, and the boy has fun making noodles and veggies and all sorts of funny food for us. He makes us pretend to eat them! |
Pasta transfer: Just some pasta, a spoon, ladle and lots of pots and plates for the boy to do his "cooking" while I cook... |
Washing all his animals using soap and water... |
And drying them with a towel (and keeping them in a separate, dry container - but that ended up rather wet in the end!). |
Tongs transfer using the animals: Little boy found this tough previously, and the odd shapes of the creatures made it hard for him to use the tongs. |
Helping around the house: He loves to help "vacuum", and also helps to sweep the floors (I remove a few sections of the handle to make it shorter for him). |

Sorting alphabets by colour: This activity had the little boy stumped, and he needed quite abit of guidance, so I'm filing this away until he's older... |
Slotting rubber bands on a stacking ring base. I used his stacking rings toy from Ikea and let him slot the rubber bands. |
A tougher version of slotting rubber bands, this time by adding a kitchen towel roll to a kitchen towel holder... Again, little boy found it pretty tough, so I'm saving this for another rainy day... |
