Thankful Tuesdays: Taking ten...

I'm taking a ten minute break from studying, and couldn't resist popping by to just count my blessings.  So here goes... We are thankful today for:

1. God's creation: I read Job yesterday morning, and couldn't help marveling at the wonderfulness of God's creation.  Its truly amazing!

"Who shut up the sea behind doors when it burst forth from the womb... when I fixed limits for it and set its doors and bars in place, when I said, 'This far you may come and no farther; here is where your proud waves halt'?" - Job 38: 8, 10-11 (Picture taken at Nugget Point, South Island, New Zealand.)

2. Silver linings in dark clouds: The hubby got stuck at work on Monday, and came back at 1 am in the morning.  Apparantly, his 1 hr case that started at 3 pm ended up becoming a 9 plus hour operation... But I'm so glad that because he finished work after midnight that day, he got the next day off!  :)

3. The hubby being able to spend yesterday hanging out with the boy.  I'm sure both of them had fun... ;)

4. Little learning: Junior J woke up this morning, pointed to his very colourfully patterned pyjamas (we got those as hand-me-downs from hubby's ex-colleague), and exclaimed "STAR!".  And he was right.  So that's one more new word to his list, along with the recently added "Ssssshhh" (for shoes), "Teee" (for tree), and "Brrrea-brrea" (for bear-bear, which he said about 5 times, and hasn't said since 3 days ago!).

5. Silly antics by the boy, like mimicking using the telephone, as well as doing actions for some Sunday school songs, which always makes me laugh.

6. Hot suppers: The hubby went and bought carrot cake (the Asian version, with loads of chilli!) for my supper last night after lecture.  Yumyumyum...

7. Oranges: Cold and power-packed with vitamin C.  Makes for sticky fingers, and is super refreshing in such hot weather!

8. Cookies: Another cookie to add to the hungry Mama's list of non-dairy snacks...

9. An interesting lecture yesterday: It was the last lecture of my final module for my studies, and our lecturer very nicely revised some topics and showed us loads of specimens.  We also had these chubby fellows at our lab bench, who were rather cute in a froggy way (but not so when one of the fellows peed, narrowly missing my lecturer!).

10. My NIE classmates, some who've become great friends.  We share stories on motherhood, we exchange summaries, we cheer each other on.  One even helps me print my notes and lends me her textbooks... You guys are great! :)

There you go!  What are you thankful for today?

  3. So much to be thankful for. For God's love for me especially; when He has never failed to be faithful even when I am distracted. For giving me a chance to be a SAHM/WAHM, to be able to watch my child blossom and grow.

  4. For this week, I am thankful for my loved ones who are there to celebrate my birthday for me, and that my boy fortunately did not injure the internal of his eye after knocking it real hard (leaving him with a panda eye at least for now).

I like the way you remember to be thankful and thus making life happier and brighter everyday:)

Rachel: Yes, those are big big blessings to me too!

Denesa: Happy birthday! Heee, I do find that trying to count my blessings once a week helps, otherwise I tend to moan and groan alot... Hope your boy's eye heals up soon...

  6. I´m thankful for a lot of things, but this particular week, I´m thankful for the good health of my new baby niece Julia and the health and happiness of her parents.
I like the variety of things you write in your posts, and I love the selection of pictures you used in this one! A lot of nature, I must say! Love it!
