Saturday scrapping: For the in-laws

Hello!  I've been able to scrapbook a little these few days, and that (plus prayer) has cheered me up some... :) I was stuck for my dissertation writing, so it was good to take some time to clear my mind a little!  I had wanted to do a piece for my MIL to thank her for all here help, and I wanted to use this photo... so I ended up with a piece with flowers...

And I got to try out stamping a leaf design as well...

And what are flowers, without butterflies?

And here's the final product!

Supplies: Patterned paper (Kaiser Craft)
Flowers (Prima), Stamps (Prima)
Brads (American Crafts glitter & Doodlebug crushed velvet brads)
Lettering (Thickers: Glass Slipper)
Then I thought it'll be nice to do one for the FIL for Father's Day, since my MIL would be leaving today and would be able to pass it to him in time.  I thought one of the photos of him at the pool with Junior J was perfect, so I went with a blue theme, and cut out wavy patterns from white cardstock and scoured the back to make them pop out from the page (got the inspiration from this papercraft book)...

And just used distress ink to enhance the look (while adding stamped patterns, plus flowers, buttons, and glittery brads!)...

And this is the finished product!

Supplies: Cardstock (American Crafts)
Patterned paper (Bo Bunny: Sunkissed- Chillin & Skies)
Brads (American Crafts glitter brads), Stamps (Bo Bunny)
Lettering (AC Thickers: Jewelry Box, Basic Grey: Origins)

I'm quite happy with how both pieces turned out... Happy Father's Day to all daddies out there!

  3. Congratulations! I love both pieces and I´m sure they will love them too.
It´s always great to use natural pictures of our kids. I framed three pictures for father´s day for the fathers of our family. I think it´s nice to have small actualizations of our little ones and place them in the office, on our night tables or living rooms.
Happy father´s day for your hubby! Enjoy!
