Thankful Tuesdays: Settling in

Hello!  Yesterday was the hubby's first day at work, and I'm glad to say it went pretty well, judging by his good mood when he came back.  Its been pretty cold these days, but there have been spots of sunshine and bits of blue sky.  So this week, I am thankful for all the little aspects of settling into a new life over here:

:: God's amazing creation.  Just looking at the flowers bursting into bloom makes your heart want to sing:

These are blooming on our kitchen windowsill.

:: Friendly neighbors, who love to chit chat with you, and lend your their tools and ladders so that you can get your lights fixed up.

:: More playtime, but just in a different part of the world.  We didn't bring any toys over for Junior J save for his Ikea veggie basket and his bear (most of the luggage weight was thanks to his books and the kids clothes!), so we got him a couple of things to keep him occupied when we got here.

We got this Playmobil safari set at 50% off, and it has been keeping him busy.

We have been having picnics on the boy's new carpet (floors can be so cold!).
There are tree stumps to sit on, and we eat fruits, pluck mushrooms, and slurp
cool water from the brook. ;)

:: Babies and their little charms: I think seeing one baby grow up suddenly into a 3 year old has made me treasure babyhood more for Baby J.  Its just so nice to cuddle the little boy, and see his gummy grin.  And of course, I'm thankful for nap time for both kids too!

:: New milestones: Baby J got fed some rice yesterday, at my mum's insistence at weaning him. (Grandmas always seem to be so eager to stuff solids into them, while ignoring warnings from our PD not to start early because of the eczema.)  Turned out his tongue thrust reflex is still pretty strong, so he didn't manage to eat any, so I'm putting the weaning on hold for a bit.

:: Slightly warmer afternoons these past few days... which means we don't need to crank the heater up high and pile on numerous layers!

What are you thankful for this week?
